There’s more behind what you see...
Korean culture is globally consumed via K-pop, K-drama, and K-beauty, but underneath it all is an ancient cultural tradition that is rarely understood outside of Korea. Until now.
At Cham Heritage, we connect Korean pop culture to the traditions behind it. We make Korean dance visible and understandable for a global audience.
There’s structure behind what you’re seeing

Every movement, gesture, and visual element follows underlying principles — of movement, meaning, and transformation.
At the core of our work is a system for analyzing and documenting Korean movement — making it visible and understandable for a global audience.

The body of work behind the system
Cham Heritage is built on the work of Professor Kim Ji-won, a scholar of Korean dance and cultural philosophy and a recipient of a presidential award in Korea.
Over decades of research and practice, she has studied and codified Korean movement across classical, regional, and contemporary traditions, identifying patterns that are often unseen but consistently present.
Her work forms the foundation of Cham Heritage.

Why This Matters
Korean culture is reaching a global audience at an unprecedented scale. But much of it is experienced without context — disconnected from the traditions it comes from.
Cham Heritage exists to close that gap — bringing depth and context to Korean culture as it reaches a global audience.
